Description

This course is based on the chapter “The Female Hip and Pelvis” by Darla Bowen Cathcart from the text Orthopedic Management of the Hip and Pelvis (2016) by Scott W. Cheatham and Morey J. Kolber. The chapter’s author presents descriptions of female pelvic anatomy; discusses the connection with low back, pelvic girdle, and hip conditions; gives a thorough analysis of chronic pelvic pain; and presents common pelvic disorders in the prenatal and postpartum woman. Patient management and collaboration with pelvic health therapists are also addressed. Good illustrations and tables enrich the text. This course will be useful to every therapist who works with women in an outpatient setting.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this course, the physical therapy clinician will be able to: 1.
